The latest release of the ElephantDrive Desktop Client (version 4.3.5) is now available.  This release is currently an optional upgrade and includes a new automatic update detection feature, some reporting refinements, and a number of bug fixes.  Details are below:

The Chancellor and the Terminator check out the ReadyNAS Vault

Our collaboration with Netgear is drawing some pretty serious attention. The Governor of California and the leader of Germany both toured the CeBIT conference and were intrigued by the ElephantDrive-powered ReadyNAS Vault, prompting the inevitable “I’ll be back-up headline.

We’re excited that the Netgear execs chose the Vault to show off to Schwartzenagger and Merkel. Hopefully California and Germany will both become customers!


Combining Cloud Storage and Hardware Draws Continued Coverage

The interest in the ReadyNAS Vault, Netgear’s new built-in cloud storage service, has continued to generate interest. Since ElephantDrive powers the solution, we were not surprised to see news of the cloud storage partnership reported by Ben Kuo at Socal Tech. It was also picked up by news and review aggregation site Cloud Storage Blog. We’re excited that this idea is generating a lot of interest in the blogosphere, but even more interested in how the Netgear customers start to use the systems. More to come on this as the Vault service is launched and adopted…
